#15 Connections in the MS–4/26/24

Friday, April 26, 2024

Dear MS Families,

Hopefully you have been able to enjoy the warmer spring weather as we lead up to Golden Week.  St. Mary’s and the MS continue to be very active places.  Please be sure to follow the calendar so you don’t miss opportunities to get involved and enjoy life as a St. Mary’s family.

Tonight we celebrate the choral achievements with the Spring Concert.  Mr. DeWitte has been working hard with the boys to prepare them for this culminating performance.  You will also be able to share in the final St. Mary’s concert with the legendary Stensons.

MAP spring testing for Grades 7 and 8 is scheduled for the mornings of May 7-9.  Grade 6 is scheduled for the mornings of May 15-17.  Remember this is one test at one moment, but can give us valuable information over time.  Our focus is primarily placed on individual student growth.  We also gain insight into areas of relative strength and weakness.  The best way to approach this test is to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and take the test seriously.  Your son should bring his fully charged computer each day with all other tabs closed (a restart each morning works best).  You will receive your son’s results via email once all the testing is complete throughout the school.

Carnival is just around the corner on Saturday, May 11th.  The boys have been given packets of raffle tickets that they should sell.  We need all families to participate!  Everyone pitching in makes the Carnival a successful event.

Please join us for our final Parent Conversation on Wednesday, May 1st, 9-10am, in the cafeteria.  Mr. Cubitt shared a form for you to ask any questions or share topics that you would like us to address.  Hope to see you there.

Thank you for partnering with the MS.

Kind regards,

Colleen Ashmore and Andrew Cubitt
